Tabloid Tidbits: Apartment orgy's popularity brings about its demise May 25, 2008 An old age pensioner who hosted wild orgies that attracted hundreds to the ordinary Nagoya apartment where they were held ended up putting a metaphorical noose around his own neck because of the success of his sex shows, according to Nikkan Gendai (5/20). Among the four arrested for indecent exposure were Kunio Kobayashi, the 68-year-old pensioner and former freelance photographer accused of being the ringleader, and Eri Takebe, a sex worker from Nisshin, Aichi Prefecture. Kobayashi started hosting orgies in a regular Nagoya apartment about four years ago after he attracted considerable response to an online ad seeking people to take part in nude photo sessions. Police said the Sunday night party that led to the arrests of Kobayashi and his cohorts came about because dozens of men and women got naked in the apartment, had sex and filmed or photographed as much of the action as they could. Nikkan Gendai says Kobayashi's "photo sessions" at the Nagoya apartment became weekly affairs, with hundreds rolling up every Saturday or Sunday to take part in the fornication fests. Participants paid a 15,000 yen fee if they were only going to take still shots, while those with video cameras paid a further 5,000 yen on top of that. About 240 people were registered as members of the old man's orgy ensemble, with 100 people on average turning out for each weekend party. Members' ages ranged from 20-somethings to those in their 60s. Female stars at Kobayashi's alleged photo shoots were almost all professional sex workers hired to get balls rolling, so to speak. Better-known porn actresses were also believed to have taken part in the events, attracting greater than normal numbers of participants, the lowbrow afternoon tabloid says. Nikkan Gendai notes that Kobayashi and co. were exposed through an anonymous tip-off made to the police. Cops are saying that the suspects were arrested for indecent exposure because so many people turned up for the orgies, the nudity that went on there made it the equivalent of them revealing themselves in public.
