Sex-crazed grad school boss's en suite 'love hotel' revealed in indecency trial March 28, 2008 From a secret bedroom filled with adult aids, aphrodisiacs and prophylactics to tantrums and insults directed at workers, the indecency trial of former Tokyo University and Graduate School of Social Welfare chancellor Tsuneo Nakajima showed he was habitually sex obsessed, Shukan Post (4/4) says. Nakajima's trial on two counts of indecently assaulting female university employees opened at the Tokyo District Court last month, and prosecutors' statements opened many eyes to the 60-year-old's alleged behavior. "The scene of the crimes the defendant chose was the 100-square-meter chancellor's office equipped with a meeting set, desk and chairs, as well as another 10-square-meter room built in behind it and equipped with a shower and bed. This smaller room contained a variety of instruments used during the sex act, as well as pharmaceuticals aimed at improving sexual performance and birth control devices," Shukan Post quotes a prosecution lawyer telling the court. An insider on the police investigation into the case says he was shocked by Nakajima's lecherous den. "He banned anybody else from going into the room. It was pretty plainly furnished, with only the bed and a sofa beside it," the insider says. "But there was the incredible array of sex toys like rotors and vibrators, all of which were carefully packed away. He also had medicines to help give him a stiffy and condoms. The place was virtually like a love hotel." The love going on inside the room was all one-way, though. One of Nakajima's accusers says he called her into the secret room in February last year on the pretense of having work for her. But once she was inside the lair of lechery he put on some music, took out a drink and began speaking to her in English, saying "you must be lonely" and then forcing himself on her as he lifted up her skirt. Nakajima's other accuser, a married woman, says in May 2005, he propositioned her, saying that it was more convenient for both parties to play around if they were attached before he lecherously lunging at her. She rejected his advances. Both Nakajima's accusers felt compelled to leave their jobs, though prosecutors also told the court that the university boss tried to cover up what happened to his second accuser by adding 1 million yen to her severance pay in the hope it would keep her quiet. Nakajima initially denied the allegations against him, saying shortly after his arrest in January for indecent assault that he had no recollection of events he was charged with. It was a different story as his trial opened. He gave a guilty plea and bowed deeply in apology. His act of repentance has drawn little sympathy from those who worked under him at the university, though. "He ruled over the university like a dictator for a long time," a source from the colleague tells Shukan Post. "He used to rant at the male employees and insult the women workers. A guy like that being apologetic now can only be a ruse he's playing to try and get a lighter sentence."
